BiographyJohanna de Langen was born in Rotterdam, Holland on 9 March, 1933. Dick Massaar was born in Leiben, Holland on 30 July, 1929. While on a visit to the Tulip fields Jo and her girlfriends asked a group of boys to take their photo. Dick was one of them and they became friends. They married in January 1955, and emigrated to Australia, arriving a month later.SynopsisIn this interview the Massaar's talk about their emigration to Australia, settling in Gymea and their family, and their emigrant experience. They recount the beginning of the Sutherland branch of the Netherlands Society and subsequently the establishment of Juliana Retirement Village.
