Details

Description Looking north to Waterfall Railway Station in 1976. In the background the Expressway which was officially opened a year earlier on 24 July 1975 can be seen. Construction of the roadway had commenced in 1972 changing the landscape of the township of Waterfall which had begun in the 1880s as a railway settlement for workers on the Illawarra line. The platforms where the trains are waiting one being a rail motor seen on the right was the third and current station site to be used.
