DescriptionIn the late afternoon in 1974 the aptly named ferry VF Lugarno is seen here crossing the Georges River near Illawong. The cars on the 16-vehicle ferry would be getting ready to drive off having taken advantage of the short trip to reach the opposite shore. It would continue to perform this long running service between Illawong and Lugarno until the end of the year with the last crossing taking place on the 12th of December 1974.
