DescriptionTaken around the late 1980s this image shows the entrance to what was once the Eton Street Theatre Restaurant opened in 1984 and located in the same building which is today the Pavilion Performing Arts Centre Sutherland. Formerly known as the Civic Centre the building was renamed at this time the Sutherland Entertainment Centre then under the new management of Max Wright. The theatre restaurant was a concept in entertainment offering dinner and a show in one venue and a change in direction for the centre which would also include space for functions such as weddings, dances and movies. The first theatre production which opened in mid-September was a comedy called “The Spies of Life” written and directed by Sean Kramer and starring Bunny Gibson, Paul Maybury and Kerrie Woods.
