Article TitleSylvania Congregational Church Jubilee celebrations were inaugurated by an open-air service, held on the spot where the first service was conducted by the Rev. Dr Robert Dey in 1884. Mr Thomas S. Holt presided. Among those present were Misses C. and M. Rice, who were present at the initial service in 1884 and Mr and Mrs William Samways who settled in the district about five years later, and initiated the Sunday School. The Rev. W.A. Marsh, who became minister of the church in 1902, delivered an address. The Rev. E.R.
