Collection SummaryIn 1938 the Sutherland Shire celebrated the Sesquicentenary of New South WalesDescriptionThe Council Chambers at Sutherland was the scene of local celebrations on the 5 February 1938 to mark the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Australia. Celebrations across the Shire included a procession of floats that went from Sylvania to the Council Chambers at Sutherland. This was followed by an official opening by the Shire President Councillor Shaw. The day ended with fireworks.
