TranscriptionOriginally known as Little Manly.
On the left, between the foot of a jagged declivity and the river, lies a shaded sandy flat called Want's Beach (originally known as Little Manly), with its jetty, off which are moored the steam launches used on the river and Port Hacking. Cottage residences, neatly built and standing in carefully-tended garden patches, are picturesquely dotted about the background and form the outskirts of the Audley establishment. This new place of road terminates in the heart of Audley, with the public pavilion, the Superintendent's residence, the Post Office and the stables on one hand, and the Trustees'cottage perched on a slightly higher level on the other.
